St. Petersburg Northeast:
 Aptly nicknamed the Sunshine City for recording 768 consecutive days of sunshine - a Guinness World Record - St. Petersburg is an outdoor lover’s paradise. The city is located in Pinellas County on the western side of the Florida peninsula. More than 250,000 people have chosen to make St. Petersburg their home. The northeastern section of the city is a lovely, waterfront residential community overlooking Tampa Bay. Northeast St. Petersburg is also the location of the largest municipal marina in the southeastern U.S., with 610 boat slips. Accessible from Interstate 275 and U.S. Route 19, St. Petersburg is 25 miles from Tampa via the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. The city claims 234 miles of shoreline along the Gulf of Mexico, Tampa Bay and Boca Ciega Bay. St. Petersburg experienced much of its growth in the 1920s as a popular resort area. Much of the Mediterranean architecture built in those days remains and has been restored over the years, providing the city with a lingering resort-town atmosphere. Recreational possibilities are practically endless, including golf, swimming, tennis, skateboarding, bicycling and boating. Local students attend the Pinellas County School System.
